I tried looking over all the runic script from the previous chapters and this one, and realized that it’s not all quite gibberish, although it does seem to deliberately substitute some letters for others. \lim, who did the redrawing for a couple of pages already, also helped out a lot.
I’ll drop the deciphered images at the bottom, but let me first go over the several terminology updates I’ll be applying as of this chapter:
Ermina is now Elmina.
Schaumacher remains the same as it’s possible that the first and last third of it are also visible on the document from Chapter 1. Her middle name, currently Genesethia, is still up in the air. It could also be something like Geneshesua judging by the katakana, but until I spot something official to support that I’ll stick to my guns.
Klarfeld is now Klaiphert.
Klaphert actually seems more accurate to the katakana, but the runes definitely have an i in there.
Dezanska is now Desanska.
The Krasnaya(n) Union is now the Krasnayan Federal Republic or Federal Republic of Krasnaya.
Initially, I used the Soviet Union (ソビエト社会主義共和国連邦) as the template for the name for a couple of reasons. Initially the name only appeared in the recap, shortened to クラスナヤ連邦. Without further context, 連邦 can mean republic, union, commonwealth… etc. Krasnaya is “red” in Russian, and their tanks and uniforms closely resemble Soviet ones from WW2. I believe it was a fair assumption. However, this chapter shows its full name to be クラスナヤ連邦共和国 – Federal Republic.Major Bradel is now Major Pradel.
Subsequent chapters reveal that the first character of his name is a プ rather than a ブ. The low resolution made it a little hard to tell apart.
Regional Army is now Field Army.
The term 方面軍 (houmengun) was a little hard to pin down, but this should be more accurate. Area Army could also work, but Field Army seems to be the right equivalent in English. It’s still strange that it doesn’t have an ordinal or extra name to specify which army specifically it is, e.g. First (Field) Army.
I’ll be retroactively updating the first 3 chapters with all of these today, including a couple of other fixes. Thanks for bearing with me.

Going with Japanese name order (Family, Given) and no honorifics for this series.
Two notes here:
1) Suzume means sparrow. That should give some extra symbolic context to the exchange on page 23.
2) On page 34, the only marine species of dinosaur that could possibly correspond to the one species of Plesiosaurus (首長竜) that Kaidou mentions is the Ichthyosaurus (魚竜). However, these aren’t actually related at all. I’m not sure if somebody messed up or if one of these terms can be used to generally mean “marine dinosaur” in Japanese unbeknownst to me, but since it won’t even be relevant for Volume 1, I’ve just decided to leave it as-is to save myself the headache. Thanks for understanding.

A new series? You bet. This one’s been in the oven for a while and I’m happy to finally release these first two chapters.
A lot of the characters’ and locations’ names seem to be vaguely European with varying degrees of plausibility. Some have real counterparts, others seem to be totally made up. If Rei Hiroe ever releases official romanizations for all the names and such I’ll consider updating my glossary and releases, but I’m playing it by ear for the time being and mostly going by what I think sounds good if I don’t find a real word or name that matches the katakana.
I’ve also added some notes for military-specific abbreviations that people might not be familiar with and the overtly German terms used in Chapter 1.
As far as the title goes, 戦闘団, or Battlegroup, is probably derived from the German term Kampfgruppe. RMR might stand for Royal Mordanian Regiment, but I have nothing concrete to back that up as of yet. It may be clarified down the line.
And yes, that is, in fact, a Full Metal Jacket reference on the last page of Chapter 2. Almost word-for-word from the Japanese dub in the original, and with a minor adjustment for the sake of rhyme on my end in the English version.
I’ve got one more series cooking, first chapter probably by the end of this month, and the latest Orenchi probably by the end of this week. Thanks for bearing with me, and look forward to it.
